ICELAND
Iceland, the land of fire and ice that astounds all those who visit for the first time.
Although the main attraction of the country is Atlantic salmon fishing, we shouldn’t overlook the enormous opportunities and locations that Iceland provides for Brown trout and Arctic Char – fish that can be found all over the island.
Classic and emblematic rivers such as the Laxá in Laxárdalur, Litlaá, Varmá, Svarta, or the Holaá River will be our fishing spots for a week. It will be possible to include days of Salmon angling to the itinerary if the group so wish.
The rivers in Iceland are controlled by private companies that issue fishing licenses in a very controlled and limited way. It’s often necessary to reserve a fishing license many months in advance, and on the most popular and best rivers even up to a year in advance.
Here at Ikantravel, we’ll take charge of obtaining the necessary licenses in plenty of time so that our clients can enjoy the angling that these magnificent and unique rivers offer as they are quickly fully booked during the height of the summer fishing season.
The group will stay at perfectly equipped fishing lodges on the banks of the river or on the plains of the Golden Circle in the South of Iceland.
There will also be time to visit other natural attractions of the island, such as waterfalls, geysers, whale-watching, and, of course, a relaxing day in the hot springs and thermal waters.
A complete adventure in the most spectacular island in Europe!
