Kyrgyzstan is so far our most exotic trout fishing destination. We are proud saying Ikantravel is the only World’s travel agency that frequently operates this destination.
Sevan trout is the main target fish we are going to look for but wild rainbows in small creeks have room during our trips as well.
Sevan trout (Salmo ischchan) endemic to the Sevan Lake, situated in southern Caucasus in Armenia was introduced during the Soviet Union period in Issyk-Kul (Kyrgyzstan) for the first time in 1930. Its natural propagation fails for different reasons, including man-made barriers built on inflowing rivers and poaching for brooder during the reproduction seasons. Sevan trout population was re-stocked again in 1964.
Whether you are a spin or fly-fishing angler, Kyrgyzstan offers to you a very wide range of different fishing locations within 20 minutes drive who are perfectly suitable for both fishing technics. Euro-nymph, dry flies and spoons will be the most successfully ways to catch fish at the Kyrgyz Republic waters.
