Fly Fishing Trip in Ybbs River

Around 170km west of Vienna, we find the Ybbs River which has some of the best angling spots in Austria – very similar to the well-known rivers of the Soča Valley in Slovenia for the appearance of its clear, emerald waters full of Brown Trout, Wild Rainbow Trout, and Grayling.

The Ybbs is a dream-come-true for the fly-fisher and most of the angling that we’ll do in this fantastic river will be with dry fly, especially early in the morning. However, given the clarity of the water, we’ll need to be properly equipped and prepared for the challenge of casting in such beautiful crystal-clear water where excellent fly line presentation will be vital.

The angling sessions take place on different stretches of the river, maintaining a controlled order of the sections that are fished. This order will be explained to the group on the first day of angling, in that way controlling the impact on each fishing beat. 

The trip includes angling in the exclusive section river in Opponitz. 

After each day’s fishing, the group can relax in the hotel with a good beer and enjoy the delicious dinner served in the restaurant.
