On the east coast of western Malaysia lies one of the most concentrated Sailfish hotspots in Southeast Asia and the whole world.

Have you ever heard about fishing this incredible and unique species in Malaysia? Probably not. Or at least not as much as the usual destinations, where hundreds of sportive fishermen go to, with the aim to fight these “alive sailboats”.

Here, in this Malaysian region bathed by the waters of the south Chinese sea, we will find many other species with a special meaning for the fishers, like the Spanish mackerel, Mahi Mahi and Black Marlin. But, as said before, the highlight of this trip will be the Sailfish.

This will be a trip you will not regret and with a plus point compared to other destinations, which you could find this species: the price. Malaysia is and will be a southeast asian country with a lot of future projection and encouraging a continuous development, but at a convenient price for the western tourist. On top of that it’s an extremely safe country. 

The fishing trips, which we will be joining in this adventure will take place in 36 or 39-feet boats, with a capacity for 4 or 5 fishers, respectively and perfectly valid for fly fishing.

The trip is suitable for those who want to practice fly fishing as well as for those who love Jigging o Popping.
